This process is now mandatory for the messages trigger under the category Service Explicit.
As per the recent update received from TRAI, all Principal Entities are required to declare and register the consents of their customers on the DLT portal of Telecom Service Providers (TSPs).
The need of Consent Registration?
This update is particularly important to customers sending service explicit messages. In the absence of customer consent in the TSPs system, the PE shall not be able to send consent-based promotional/service explicit messages to their subscribers/customers.
As per the next phase of DLT implementation, we request that you initiate the process of Consent Template registration and ensure that consent templates are registered on your preferred operator DLT portal as soon as possible.
Here's a sample on How to Register?
Template Name: Customer Permission
Brand Name: Name of the Brand
Template Consent: Dear Customer, thanks for visiting {Name of the Brand}. We would love to stay in touch with you about our new launches and promotions. To continue receiving exciting offers and updates from us on call/SMS, please submit your consent.
Save, submit and ensure approval by the operator.
Note:
The Template Consent should not contain any variables
Brand/PE/Trade/Legal Name must be captured clearly in the consent template
Operators[Jio/BSNL/Vodafone-Idea/Airtel etc] have opened a gateway for uploading the consent data.
Under Analytics → Reports → Miscellaneous → You can Export CSV of the customer data under User Sign-Up.
